Due to the increase in corona infection, this year's IPL event was closed in the middle. But the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is determined to manage the rest of the IPL anyway. With this plan, the BCCI had earlier announced that they would finish the rest of the IPL just before the T20 World Cup. This time they showed the formality by announcing the schedule.
The rest of the IPL matches will be held in 27 days. They will manage a total of 31 matches in these 27 days. The rest of the IPL will start on September 19. Chennai Super Kings will face Mumbai Indians on the same day. Kolkata Knight Riders will face Royal Challengers Bangalore in the second match on September 20. On Sunday evening, the BCCI announced that they would finish the group stage match on October 18. The first qualifier will be held on October 10. October 13 will be the second qualifier. The final will be played on October 15 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
According to the BCCI, seven doubleheaders will be held in the UAE. Earlier, five doubleheaders were held in India. As before, the first match of the day will be held at 4 pm and the second match will be held at 8 pm. The most matches in the second round will be held in Dubai. A total of 13 matches will be held in Dubai. There will be 8 matches in Abu Dhabi and 10 matches in Sharjah.
There was no knock-out match in Abu Dhabi. Dubai and Sharjah got two knock-out matches each. The final match and the first qualifier will be held in Dubai. The eliminator and second qualifier will be held in Sharjah.
In all, 29 matches were played in the first phase of IPL. Then it doesn't start. The BCCI was forced to stop the game if the corona of several players was positive. The Indian Cricket Board has already announced that the next matches will be played in the United Arab Emirates. And the Indian Cricket Board hopes they will finish just before the T20 World Cup.
